Winterberry
Winterberry Holly, or Ilex verticillata, is a deciduous holly that defies the typical stereotype. When the word “holly” springs to mind, most folks know it to have glossy evergreen leaves, but Winterberry has a smaller abundance of leaves that show off the berries’ beautiful brightness. This is a shrub that knows how to attract attention, and it has a vast geographical presence. It can be found anywhere, ranging from Nova Scotia in Canada all the way to the Netherlands.
