It's official! Due to the predicted steady rain for Saturday, we are moving the Trillium Garden at the Wakefield Estate to its rain date —  Sunday, May 20, 1:00pm-5:00pm.

Everything else remains the same - enjoy a fine selection of draft beers from Trillium Brewing Company, food trucks, live music, activities for children, farm animals, garden games and more - all surrounded by the newly-accredited arboretum and gardens of the Wakefield Estate.

We look forward to welcoming you on Sunday!

Join us on Mother's Day for a stroll and a spot of Tea!

The Mary M. B. Wakefield Charitable Trust is excited to announce it will hold its second annual Mother's Day Tea Sunday, May 13th starting at 3:00 in the Front Garden. $10 donation requested for adults attending tea and children are welcome. Reservations are requested if you plan to attend the tea, but are not needed to enjoy a walk during Open Hours which will be 1:00-4:00 that Sunday. RSVP by calling 617-333-0924 x22.This event is weather dependent and will be held in the Isaac Davenport Mansion in the event of inclimate weather. Arbor Day Earth Celebration Friday, April 20th

The Wakefield Estate and the Milton Shade Tree Advisory Committee are again collaborating for our 2nd Arbor Day Earth Celebration on Friday, April 20th from 11 am-2 pm with a family-friendly program of activities. This event will have a "trees are great for the earth" emphasis, mashing Earth Day and Arbor Day with a fun range of activities including tree planting demo & raffle, "worm compost" session, Citizen Scientist tree phenology (observing) activities, earth art, animal visits, "BYOPicnic" and "worm sundae" making!  Please call 617-333-0924 to RSVP.

Stone Soup: "Digging Deeper" into our Arboretum with Deb April 25th

Join us on Wednesday, April 25th for our last event in the 2018 Stone Soup and Speaker series of engaging talks and delicious homemade soups. This year's theme, "Digging Deeper: Exploring the Wakefield Estate's Collections," allows for a deeper look at four different aspects of the estate's collections. Our final event will feature an opportunity to hear the deeper story behind the world-class collection in our newly accredited arboretum from Landscape Director Deb Merriam. This program will be held in the Isaac Davenport mansion located at 1465 Brush Hill Road. The event begins at 6:00 pm with a bowl of delicious homemade soup and and will include a brief garden tour if weather permits. Suggested donation $5. Space is limited; pre-registration appreciated by calling 617-333-0924 x22.
