This workshop will begin at 6:30 pm with a short demonstration by Landscape Director Deb Merriam on how to make a wreath base from locally sourced greens. After that, Lisa Ahern from Cedar Grove Gardens, will show how to embellish that plain base and turn it into a custom-made show stopper! The fee for this class is $35; $25 for members. Space is limited and registration is required; call 617-333-0924 x22.

The recent cool nights remind us that soon the holidays will be sneaking up. That means it's time for "Holiday Inspiration with Lisa," our annual holiday decoration demonstration by Lisa Ahern, floral designer for Cedar Grove Gardens. On Nov. 9th at 6:30 pm, Lisa will share her tips on how to create beautiful and easy floral accents for the holiday home, emphasizing creative and fun ways to make your home and table "shine" during the holidays. Enjoy some light refreshments, mulled cider or a glass of wine while watching Lisa work her magic! Most of the arrangements created during the workshop are raffled among those present at the end of the evening. Price for the workshop is $25 per person, $15 for members. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, call 617-333-0924 x22.
Thanks to Richard O'Mara of Cedar Grove Gardens for donating all materials used at the demo and Lisa for donating her time and expertise. Cedar Grove Gardens is a great place to get all your holiday decorations.
Help us celebrate (and save) bats Sat. Oct. 22nd
Thursday, 13 October 2016 12:09
We warmly invite you to join us for our event during Bat Week 2016, an annual celebration dedicated to sharing the importance of those flying, furry mammals we love-and need-so much. We're excited and you should be, too! On October 22nd, join us starting at 11:00 am for a program of activities that celebrates these valuable and enigmatic creatures. The program will begin with a brief presentation on the importance of bats in the environment; then build your own bat house to take home and finally help us improve bat habitat at the Wakefield for an hour of invasive removal so that we can plant native plants for bats!
This is your chance to learn about a fascinating animal, log some community service hours in a fun way, and really make a difference to your community and the environment.
Registration for this event is greatly appreciated. To register, call 617-333-0924x22.Join us for our Fairy Fest on October 22nd
