Holiday Floral Demo Dazzles Again
Last week for the third consecutive year, floral designer Lisa Ahern worked her magic and gave a dazzling holiday floral demonstration to a standing room only crowd. The evening session began with participants enjoying mulled cider, wine and snacks in the farmhouse, cozy with a fire flickering in the wood stove. Then Ahern displayed how to make several stunning decorations ranging a simple arrangement of cranberries, twigs and paperwhite bulbs to an elaborate but easy to assemble thanksgiving centerpiece bursting with fruit and vegetables of the fall harvest. Based on word of mouth, Ahern and these holiday happenings have developed a devoted following and generally sell-out. This year was no exception with staff scurrying to accomodate an overflow of attendees. Ahern, who works at Cedar Grove Gardens, donates all proceeds from her session to benefit the estate’s charitable trust.
