On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Mary M. B. Wakefield Estate sponsored a pair of demonstrations on how to dress up your home and containers with festive holiday trim and branches.

Deborah Trickett of The Captured Garden started the day off with her presentation “Creating Winter Window boxes and Containers,” showing how dress up containers to look beautiful during the stark winter months. After a break for refreshments, floral designer and buyer/merchandiser Lisa Ahern of Cedar Grove Gardens, 911 Adams St. Dorchester, presented “Creating Holiday Wreaths and Decorations for the Home” and created 5 stunning holiday displays ranging from a cornucopia to a door swag. Seven items were raffled, so several attendees went home with something beautiful to display during the holidays, while the rest went home brimming with ideas to create their own.
