Winter Tree ID Workshop & Tour Jan. 22nd at 10 a.m.
Friday, 14 January 2022 13:14
Many of us can identity a few tree species, like maples and oaks, based on their leaf shapes. Once they shed their leaves in fall, recognizing various tree species can be more difficult but not impossible. A tree's bark, twigs or buds, leftover fruit or seed pods, overall shape, and other features all provide valuable clues.
Join us for a special workshop and arboretum tour that will focus on the special skill of identifying trees in the winter. Learn how to put your observational skills to work along with some of the tricks that make it possible to recognize various tree species even when they are dormant.
There is no fee for this session but registration is required via this link. If possible, this will be an in-person all outdoor session so dress accordingly. In the event of COVID complications, it will be switched to a zoom session.
