We've added a new feature to our website! You can check out some of the fantastic fruit currently on display at the Wakefield Estate by pointing to the "Visit" tab on our website, "drop down" to the new "Fantastic Fruit on Display" tab and slide over to one of the tabs describing some of the intriguing plants currently in displaying gorgeous or unusual fruit or seed pods. Check back frequently because we will be adding additional entries as the fruit on different trees and shrubs ripens and is prime for viewing.

2017 Interns Wrapping Up a Packed Six Weeks

Wednesday, 02 August 2017 14:37

This year, the Wakefield Estate Summer Landscape Intern crew was small but mighty, with just three very special and carefully chosen members. With two young women who are horticulture majors at Norfolk Aggie, and a graduating senior from Academy of the Pacific Rim who is headed to Unity College to pursue Environmental Studies, this year's crew has exceeded our expectations, proving that indeed "less can be more." The 2017 crew has helped further spruce up the estate's landscape and created a spectacular new woodland trail which will delight students in the fall. This year many visitors have remarked that the estate has never looked better, and the summer work of the interns will help us maintain the high standard we've achieved.
The 2017 Summer Landscape Intern Crew includes: Ava Burke, Colleen McDonough, and Sebastian Boucher.
Great job team, and best of luck in the fall!
