Come visit us VIRTUALLY!

Wednesday, 01 April 2020 11:08

We're switching it up to meet the new needs of a new situation - come visit us VIRTUALLY!
In response to an ever-changing and evolving situation brought on by COVID-19, we are trying to step it up and enable all of you and the 1000 elementary students we would welcome this year to enjoy VIRTUAL visits to this amazing landscape. This month, we will be posting a series of videos, photos, texts, and instagram "insta-walks" on our various social media platforms. We hope you will join us for "plant of the day," a walk on some of our beautiful trails, and learn about a broad array of our horticultural highlights such as this tour of our dwarf conifer collection. We will be posting on our website at wakefieldtrust.org, our Facebook page, our Instagram page and on our twitter page.
Check us out frequently and learn more about this place and about horticulture and all kinds of cool stuff. Hope to see you there!

CANCELLED: 3rd Stone Soup Event on 3/26 "Listens" to Aldo Leopold

Tuesday, 10 March 2020 11:52

2020 Stone Soup and Speaker Series:
Voices from our past; visions for our future
Wednesday, March 25, 6:00-7:30 pm
What would Aldo Leopold, "the father of wildlife ecology," say about the state of the world's ecology on the 50th anniversary year of Earth Day? How would he advise future generations to address climate concerns? At the third in our 2020 Stone Soup series, Ph.D. student Tara Miller will share her research on climate change's impacts on wildlife health and wildflower flowering times, and what insights Leopold leaves us in our current era. With 2020 being the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, this year's series is focusing on key thought leaders from the past whose work continues to inform and influence our knowledge and work today as it relates to the environment and climate concerns.
The program starts at 6:00 pm when guests can enjoy a bowl of homemade soup and bread before settling in to hear the speaker's remarks.  Suggested donation $10. Space is limited; please rsvp by calling 617-333-0924.
