Dogwood Days 2019: A Week-long Celebration

Plan to visit us during our signature event: Dogwood Days - the annual week-long celebration of estate’s iconic kousa dogwood trees this June! It's going to be spectacular!

Each June, the Wakefield Estate welcomes visitors to celebrate the annual blooming of hundreds of Polly Wakefield's kousa dogwood trees. We’re excited to announce that this year’s Dogwood Days will kick-off with our seventh annual Dogwood Days Garden Party on June 8th (rsvp required), followed by a week-full of special events, including open hours, guided tours, a tree sale, our Wine, Cheese and Trees Trivia Tour, Dog and Dogwoods Day and the Dogwood Beer Garden. From Sunday, June 9th until Saturday, June 15th, the grounds will be open daily from 10 am until 4 pm for self-guided walks around the formal gardens where hundreds of breathtaking kousa dogwoods will be at their peak bloom. During Dogwood Days, a donation of $5 for admission is suggested.

In conjunction with our Dogwood Days Celebration, we will hold our annual plant sale. This is your opportunity to add some special woody plants and perennials to your own yard, including some of the estate's signature kousa dogwoods, metasequoias, tulip trees, and mayapples.
